Italy 2019 - Lake Garda Day 10

Italy 2019 - Lake Garda Day 10

First thing this morning, we drove to Malcesine, a town to the northeast of Lake Garda. Once there, we stopped for breakfast before taking in some of the views.

Then, we rode two cable cars up to Monte Baldo, which is a mountain range in the Italian Alps. We walked up to the peak, where we were even higher than clouds and you could see for miles. There were even some goats and alpacas (!) at the top.

We then stopped for a coffee and cake on the mountain!

After that, we caught the cable cars back down to Malcesine. We were hungry and found a place to get some crepes, but they took so long to bring our order that we gave up waiting and ran away to find some pizza instead! We also sampled some local wine, which was made three miles down the road at a place called Bardolino.

Whilst we were eating al fresco, the heavens opened and there was an amazing thunder and lightning storm which came out of nowhere! The pavements turned to rivers and the thunder was deafening! Here is a video of the rain and two random kids enjoying it!

So, we stayed at the restaurant a little longer and had a couple more cokes until the storm passed (or at least became a bit less aggressive!). Then, we headed back to the Airbnb for the evening to relax and eat more as we watched the waves and played cards again.

We have an early start in the morning driving to our final destination, Venice!
